Buffer for crane systems

LEBEN manufactures hydraulic industrial shock absorbers as crane buffers for crane systems (such as overhead crane, jib crane, loading crane, shiploader, container crane and gantry crane), for the trolley or the crane bogie as end stop.
For the design of the buffers, DIN EN 15011, DIN EN 13001, FEM 1001 and/or AISE’s Technical Report No. 6 can be used as a guideline, depending on requirements.

Crane buffer as end stop for the gantry crane as crane bogie buffer and the overhead travelling trolley as trolley buffer:

Problem:
If the electrical limit switch fails, the crane without crane shock absorber moves unbraked to the end stop and causes a serious accident. Likewise, the overhead travelling trolley without trolley shock absorber can collide with the end stops and damage the runway.

Solution:
Hydraulic industrial shock absorbers are arranged on the crane (COMPENSER®), either travelling on the crane or stationary at the end stops of the crane system, which provide controlled damping of the crane or trolley until it comes to a standstill in accordance with permissible parameters (deceleration and reaction force).

Advantage:
Avoid damage to people, cranes and buildings by reducing impact forces and deceleration.

Intermediate Buffer (Crane Bogie Buffer, Crane to Crane):

Problem:
In the case of several cranes on a crane runway, the cranes collide with each other, in case of inaccurate manual crane operation in oncoming traffic.

Solution:
If there are several cranes on one crane runway, all cranes are equipped with an industrial shock absorber (COMPENSER®) of the S-Type series as an intermediate shock absorber. This heavy-duty shock absorber is designed according to the permissible damping force and deceleration of the crane system.

Advantage:
Prevention of damage to persons, cranes and buildings by reducing impact forces and deceleration.
