Buffers for crane systems

LEBEN produces hydraulic industrial shock absorbers as crane buffers for crane systems (including overhead bridge cranes, slewing cranes, loading bridges, container cranes, and gantry cranes), e.g., for the crane gantry or the trolley as end stops.
Depending on the requirements, the design of the buffers can be based on DIN EN 15011, DIN EN 13001, FEM 1001, and/or AISE’s Technical Report No. 6.

Crane buffers as end-position damping for gantry cranes, as crane gantry buffers, and for the trolley as trolley buffers:

Problem:
In the event of a failure of the electrical limit switch, the crane travels into the end stop without crane buffers at full speed, causing a serious accident. Similarly, without trolley buffers, the trolley can collide with the end stops and damage the runway.

Solution:
Hydraulic industrial shock absorbers are installed as crane buffers either moving with the crane or stationary at the end stops of the crane system. These dampen the crane or trolley in a controlled manner according to permissible specified parameters (deceleration & reaction force) until they come to a standstill.

Advantage:
Prevention of damage to personnel, cranes, and buildings by reducing the impact force and deceleration.

Intermediate buffers (as crane gantry buffers, crane against crane):

Problem:
When multiple cranes are on one runway, the cranes collide with each other in two-way traffic if the crane control is imprecise.

Solution:
If there are several cranes on one runway, all cranes are equipped with an S-series industrial shock absorber as an intermediate buffer. This is designed according to the permissible damping force and deceleration of the crane system.

Advantage:
Prevention of damage to personnel, cranes, and buildings by reducing impact forces and decelerations.
