S-Type / Hydraulic buffer
Gas-hydraulic buffer / S-Type / COMPENSER®
With the S-Type, LEBEN offers a hydraulic buffer (gas-hydraulic buffer) for applications in medium to heavy mechanical engineering (heavy duty).
The preferred area of application for the (gas-) hydraulic buffer (COMPENSER®) of the S-series is in the field of medium to heavy mechanical engineering. As a gas-hydraulic buffer, it is used in large crane systems (e.g., port cranes, shipyard cranes, or container cranes), metallurgical plants, rolling mills, loading systems, in railway technology, or as an end stop integrated into a buffer stop. Due to its modular design, maintenance and simple repairs on this hydraulic buffer can be carried out on-site by the customer’s own personnel.
Applications:
- Crane systems, bridge cranes, gantry cranes, and steel mill cranes Container cranes, port cranes, ship-to-shore cranes, and loading bridges
- Trolleys, crab trolleys, crane trolleys, and crane end stops
- Conveyor systems, conveying technology, bulk material handling, and bulk material handling Stacker-reclaimers, stackers, reclaimers, wagon tipplers, and transfer cars
- Stacker cranes (ASRS), AS/RS systems, high rise storage facilities, and intralogistics
- Buffer stops, braking buffer stops, fixed buffer stops, and track ends
- Automatic couplers, railway couplings, Scharfenberg couplings, and intermediate buffers
- Test benches, crash test facilities, end stops, and custom machine design
- Mounting position: any
- high retracting force
- very high buckling resistance
- very robust guide and bearing
- Surface: housing painted in RAL 1023 (standard), piston rod double hard chrome-plated (standard)
- low and high viscosity COMPENSOL®
- Flange optionally on front or rear side, or foot mounting
- optionally constant reaction force over the entire stroke or increasing reaction force in the front stroke range
- very short activation time after impact
- Temperature range -40 to +80 °C
- Energy conversion up to 3,450 kNm
The gas-filled inner tube 2 retracts into the outer tube 9. In the process, the damping medium flows from the working chamber 6 through the throttle bores 8 of the metering tube 7 into the compensation chamber 5. The separating piston 4 simultaneously moves towards the impact cap 1 and compresses the nitrogen gas filling. The energy required for resetting is thus stored in the gas chamber 3. When the inner tube 2 returns to its initial position, the separating piston 4 moves in the opposite direction, pushing the damping medium back into the working chamber 6.
