DC-Type / Double Acting Absorber

Gas-hydraulic industrial shock absorber / COMPENSER®

With the DC-Type (double-acting shock absorber), LEBEN offers a highly space-saving hydraulic industrial shock absorber for a wide range of applications.

Double-acting industrial shock absorber DC-Type

The The COMPENSER® of the DC series is an ideal hydraulic shock-reduction element for warehouse logistics applications (stacker cranes). As a double-acting shock absorber, this industrial shock absorber can be used in a space-saving manner due to its design and can be actuated alternately from both sides. The design and function correspond to the C-Type. In addition, operational approach in creep mode is possible without any issues due to the low retracting force. Optional equipment includes, for example, PU elastic caps as an impact cap insert for noise minimization and electronic extension monitoring (as an inductive or magnetic sensor). If only a slightly increasing retracting force over the entire stroke is desired, an additional accumulator can be mounted on the buffer to increase the gas accumulator volume. This reduces the retracting force in the retracted state. Due to the modular design, maintenance and simple repairs can be carried out on this shock absorber on site by the customer’s own personnel.

Applications:

  • DC-Type shock absorber for miniload, intralogistics and warehouse technology
  • Double Acting Absorber for stacker cranes and AS/RS
  • Space-saving end stop for high rise storage facilities, small parts warehouses, and shuttle systems
  • Double-acting buffer for trolleys, stackers, and conveyor technology
  • Shock reduction for conveyors, transfer cars, and horizontal movements
  • Hydraulic shock absorber for air cargo, air freight warehouses, and automated warehouses
  • End position damping for automation, material flow, and custom machine design
  • Mounting position: horizontal
  • low retracting force
  • Space-saving, double-acting shock-reduction element
  • high buckling resistance
  • Surface: housing zinc-plated (standard) or painted, piston rod hard chrome-plated (standard)
  • low-viscosity COMPENSOL®
  • Foot mounting or flange mounting
  • optionally constant reaction force over the entire stroke or increasing reaction force in the front stroke range
  • very short activation time after impact
  • Temperature range -40 to +80 °C
  • Energy conversion up to 240 kNm

The piston rod 2 enters the metering tube 3. The damping medium flows from the working chamber 6 through the throttle bores 4 of the metering tube 3 into the compensation chamber 5. The nitrogen gas between the outer tube 7 and metering tube 3 is compressed and stores the energy required for retraction. During retraction of the piston rod 2 to its initial position, the damping medium flows back into the working chamber 6.
