C-Type / Hydraulic industrial shock absorber

Industrial shock absorber / COMPENSER®

With the C-Type, LEBEN offers a hydraulic industrial shock absorber for applications in light to medium mechanical engineering.

Industrial shock absorber C-Type

The C-series industrial shock absorber (COMPENSER®) is the ideal hydraulic shock reducing element for highly dynamic stacker cranes, conveyor systems, crane systems, test benches, etc., in light to medium mechanical engineering.
Due to its compact design, this hydraulic industrial shock absorber (COMPENSER®) can be used in industrial applications as a space-saving end-position limiter (as an end stop). Furthermore, operational approach is easily possible due to low retracting force. A wide range of accessories is available. Maintenance and simple repairs for this shock absorber can be carried out on-site by customer personnel due to its modular design.

Applications:

  • Automation technology, handling equipment and assembly systems
  • Linear units, slides, traversing axes and positioning units
  • Conveyor technology, roller conveyors, chain conveyors and transfer lines
  • Traversing trolleys, transfer trolleys, cross trolleys and shifting trolleys
  • Storage technology, small parts storage, high rise storage facilities and automated storage systems
  • Stacker cranes (ASRS), AS/RS systems and shuttle applications
  • Packaging machines, sorting systems and material flow systems
  • Small crane systems, light hoists and trolley drives
  • Machine stops, end stops, safety stops and emergency stops
  • Custom machine design, test rigs, fixtures and indexing machines
  • Mounting position: horizontal (standard), vertical upon inquiry
  • low retracting force
  • compact design
  • high buckling resistance
  • Surface: housing zinc-plated (standard) or painted, piston rod hard chrome-plated (standard)
  • low-viscosity COMPENSOL®
  • Flange optionally on front or rear side, or foot mounting
  • optionally constant reaction force over the entire stroke or increasing reaction force in the front stroke range
  • very short activation time after impact
  • Temperature range -40 to +80 °C
  • Energy conversion up to 600 kNm

The piston rod 2 enters the metering tube 3. The damping medium flows from the working chamber 6 through the throttle bores 4 of the metering tube 3 into the compensation chamber 5. The nitrogen gas between the outer tube 7 and metering tube 3 is compressed and stores the energy required for retraction. During retraction of the piston rod 2 to its initial position, the damping medium flows back into the working chamber 6.

  • Additional accumulator to reduce the retracting force and to separate the damping medium phase from the nitrogen gas phase, e.g., during operational load cycles
  • Sensor for signaling the operational readiness of the shock reducing element (inductive, magnetic, optical, or as a mechanical limit switch – also available explosion-proof according to ATEX)
  • Pressure sensor (diaphragm/piston pressure switch) for monitoring the internal pressure
  • Sensor for position monitoring of the stroke
  • integrated temperature monitoring
  • integrated monitoring of fill levels
  • Maintenance connection for filling damping medium and nitrogen gas
  • specific materials, e.g., stainless steel for highly corrosive environments or use in the food industry
  • high-quality corrosion protection according to DIN EN ISO 12944 up to corrosivity category C5M
  • Bellows as optimal protection against dust, dirt or corrosive media
  • maintenance-free mechanical retraction of the piston rod by means of compression spring
  • safe use in automotive & food industry through appropriate COMPENSOL®
  • Special COMPENSOL® for use in extreme temperature ranges
  • Valve to minimize retraction time
  • Valve to minimize compression force during operational load cycles
  • Drive energy consumption (throttling)
  • End position damping
  • optionally round or square flange on front or rear side
  • Foot mounting (welded or flanged)
  • Special mounting elements (e.g., eyes) according to customer’s desired geometry
  • PU impact cap for noise reduction
  • Special impact cap upon customer request and for special applications (e.g., catching impact cap for two colliding impact caps)
  • Safety wire rope on the piston rod
  • Special seals for use in extreme temperature ranges
