The industrial shock absorbers and heavy-duty buffers from LEBEN-Dämpfungstechnik GmbH are used in a wide range of machinery, equipment and industrial installations. Typical applications can be found in light and heavy mechanical engineering, conveyor and material handling technology, crane systems, railway applications, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), stacker cranes and special-purpose machinery. COMPENSER® damping elements are also used in train couplings, railway buffer stops, lock gates, special vehicles, test equipment and customer-specific industrial installations.

The purpose of these damping elements is to absorb kinetic energy in a controlled manner, decelerate moving masses and limit impact and reaction forces. Depending on the application, they can be used as an operational end stop, hydraulic buffer or emergency shock absorber for overrun protection and emergency end-stop damping. Typical applications include the end-position damping of horizontal travel movements, protection of crane and travelling mechanisms, or fall protection for lifting equipment and vertical axes.

To meet these different requirements, LEBEN-Dämpfungstechnik GmbH offers several designs and operating principles. These include hydraulic industrial shock absorbers, gas-hydraulic heavy-duty shock absorbers and buffers, double-acting shock absorbers, hydrostatic damping elements as well as irreversible deformation tubes and crash elements.

Depending on the moving mass, impact velocity, kinetic energy, available stroke and permissible reaction force, the shock absorber can be adapted to the specific machine and load case. Customer-specific solutions are also available for unusual installation conditions, demanding environmental requirements and applications involving high impact energies.
