Mountain railway
LEBEN produces vibration absorbers for special applications such as mountain railways, including pendulum dampers or valve-controlled shock absorbers
Cabin suspension with vibration damping (pendulum dampers):
Problem:
Without vibration absorbers, the cabins of large-cabin cable cars (so-called aerial tramways) begin to oscillate longitudinally when passing over support towers. For this reason, the travel speed must be significantly reduced to avoid passenger discomfort. The consequence of this speed reduction is a longer travel time and thus a reduced transport capacity.
Solution:
In the pendulum axle within the chassis area, a COMPENSER® is arranged as a rotary piston damper, which effectively reduces the pendulum movement as a vibration absorber.
Advantage:
When using a valve-controlled shock absorber, the travel speed needs to be reduced less when passing over the support towers, allowing the transport capacity of the cable car to be increased.
Mountain and valley stations with guided end stops:
Problem:
Inaccurate positioning of the incoming cabin in valley or mountain stations can cause the cabin carriage to get caught in the rope guide, or the cabin may not come to a standstill at the intended location.
Solution:
At the end of the travel path, an COMPENSER® from the S-series is provided, which brakes the chassis and guides it into the exact position by resetting the piston rod.
Advantage:
The cabin comes to a standstill safely and in a precisely positioned manner.
Electrical position monitoring of the COMPENSER® piston rod is possible.
