Industrial shock absorbers as so-called “buffers” for railway couplings

Challenge:
Careless coupling of rail vehicles can cause damage to the train coupling and the vehicle due to an undamped impact in the direction of compression. In addition, depending on the scenario, damping of the buffer in the direction of tension may be required alongside the start-up for the coupling process.

Solution:
