Leakage-free Industrial Shock Absorbers as Fire Protection for Subways:

Problem:
In the London Underground, particularly high demands were placed on the fire protection of the hydraulic safety shock absorbers used, due to a highly flammable environment.

Solution:
The safety shock absorbers used from LEBEN-Dämpfungstechnik GmbH were equipped with the specially suitable damping medium (COMPENSOL®).
Unlike hydraulic oil, this offers protection against leakage, as a leaky buffer will not run out.
Furthermore, the damping medium (COMPENSOL®) offers increased fire protection compared to conventional oil, as it is difficult to ignite.
